We stayed at d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua for 2 nights during our Jakarta trip in December 2015.
1. Good Location
The hotel is 25 kilometers from Jakarta International Airport. It took us 45 minutes to travel from the airport to the hotel and vice versa on weekend nights (Our time of travel: Saturday 1:15 am – 2:00 am and Sunday 9:15 pm- 10:00 pm).
d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua is only 5 km away from Cafe Batavia, Jakarta History Museum, Museum Wayang and the other attractions in Fatahillah Square in Old Batavia. For a quick historical, cultural and culinary tour of Jakarta, Fatahillah Square in Old Batavia is the place to go.
d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua is only 2 km away from Ancol Dreamland. Ancol Dreamland is a recreational park that has a number of theme parks such as Seaworld Ancol, Dunia Fantasi or Dufan (Jakarta’s version of Disneyland), Ocean Dream Samudra, Ocean Ecopark and Ancol Beach City. For some fun and adventure with the family, especially those with kids, Ancol Dreamland is the place to go.
d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua is within the Mangga Dua shopping area. Right in front of the hotel is WTC Mangga Dua, one of the largest trading centers in North Jakarta that offers a number of restaurants and clothing stores.
Since our stay in Jakarta was a short one, time was of the essence. We needed a hotel that was close to the attractions in our itinerary to spend as little time as possible on the road considering Jakarta’s dreadful traffic.
2. Cleanliness and Modern Style
d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua is a clean and well-maintained 2-star hotel. The lobby, elevator, and corridors are all spotless. We got a deluxe room that was also well-kept.
Hotel stay comes with complimentary breakfast for two at the Starbucks store on the ground floor of d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua. The free breakfast is pretty simple, just 2 doughnuts or bagels and 2 cups of coffee. We ordered additional sandwiches to supplement the free breakfast.
Hotel stay also comes with free toiletries (shampoo, shower gel, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs), 2 free bottles of water per night of stay, 2 free local cup noodles, free in-room coffee and tea and free wi-fi.
d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua offers 3 types of rooms: Standard, Superior and Deluxe. Standard room rate is IDR 360,000 per night (PHP 1,266). Superior room rate is IDR 428,000 per night (PHP 1,506). Deluxe room rate is IDR 522,000 per night (PHP 1,837).All room rates are hotel website online rates, good for 2-person occupancy and inclusive of all fees and taxes.
To reserve a room, just visit the hotel website and pay 12% of total amount. I used my credit card to make a reservation. Then, the hotel sent me a confirmation letter via email. The balance is to be paid at the hotel reception upon check-in. They accept cash or Visa credit card.
Check-in is at 2:00 pm. Check-out is at 12:00 noon. I initially paid for a 2-night stay, but since our flight back to Manila was at 12:30 am, we opted to pay an additional IDR 599,500 on the spot at the reception desk (good for an additional 1-night stay) so we would have a place to rest and freshen up before our flight.
I made my hotel reservation 4 months before arrival.
Below are some actual photos of our room, Deluxe Room 202.
First, they did not respond to my inquiries via email and through their website after I have paid the reservation fee required.
Second, when we arrived at the hotel at 2:00 in the morning, the receptionist tried to relocate us to their sister hotel (because d’prima was “fully-booked”) even though I specifically reserved and paid for a deluxe room specifically at d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua. When we asked to talk to the manager of the hotel, the receptionist changed his mind and gave us a Deluxe Room on the second floor of d’prima hotel WTC Mangga Dua (Room 202). Everything went smoothly after that and the receptionist was very nice and apologetic. 🙂
