Zuri Goes To Kidzania Manila!!! :)

May 11, 2017

Zuri goes to Kidzania Manila!!! Finally! We’ve been putting off this trip for more than a year. I’m so glad we finally made it to Kidzania Manila.

I’m sure a lot of you have brought your kids to Kidzania and this post is probably already “too late” because you probably have known for a long time now that Kidzania is great. But, anyway, I’m still feeling high about our trip and I miss writing so here it goes. πŸ™‚

So, we’re watching our expenses closely this year because we have some serious family milestones that we want to achieve. Because of this, instead of having a big party, we just celebrated Zuri’s 6th birthday with a simple salo-salo with family followed by a visit to Kidzania Manila.

Kidzania Manila impresses at first sight. The ticketing booths are in an “airport” complete with a long line of red queue barriers, a carousel and guards that point you in the right direction to “boarding”. Upon paying the entrance fee, we were given our tickets and security bracelets. Zuri also received a check which she exchanged for 50 Kidzos (Kidzania money) at the “BPI Kidzania branch”. Tickets are printed like boarding passes and they’re just the cutest thing! πŸ™‚

Zuri’s Jobs In Kidzania Manila – The City For Kids!

1. Β Nail Technician

Most stations at Kidzania are for kids only but there are a few that allow parents to participate, one of which is Kurlz Beauty Salon. Zuri was given a choice whether to be the customer or the salon worker and she chose to work. Wise choice! She could either do make up or nail polish. She chose nail polish. I, on the other hand, acted as her customer.

They use real nail polish at Kurlz Beauty Salon and I wore mine for a week. Despite how they looked, I couldn’t bear to remove the polish on my nails because it was Zuri’s work. Zuri earned some Kidzos for her work at Kurlz Beauty Salon.

2. Pilot

Next, Zuri tried being a pilot. The Aviation Academy trains kids to become cabin crew or pilots. Zuri wanted to fly the plane, hence her choice. πŸ™‚ She learned how to use the joystick to control the direction of the plane. She said the plane kept on crashing, though! Haha! Because it’s a training facility, Zuri had to pay 15 Kidzos for her pilot education. πŸ™‚

3. Pizza Maker

Luckily, there was no one at the queue when we passed by the Yellow Cab pizza-making station. Here, Daddy Rupert was able to join Zuri in making their very own pizzas. Zuri paid 15 Kidzos for this activity.

Before anything else, Daddy and Zuri had to wash their hands. It’s very important to keep one’s hands clean when preparing food. πŸ™‚

That rolling pin seriously looks fun. It was at this point that I felt inggit I wasn’t the one inside with Zuri. Haha. πŸ™‚

And now for the sauce…

After adding toppings, Daddy’s and Zuri’s pizza pies were put in the oven.

4. Gas Girl

Since Zuri had already spent 30 Kidzos (15 at the Aviation Academy and 15 at Yellow Cab), she needed to find a job to replenish her Kidzos. She found her next job at one of my favorites – the Shell Gasoline Station. Here, she learned how to fill up a gas tank, how to clean a car and how to change the oil on a motorcycle. She wore a super duper cute gas girl uniform and earned some Kidzos, too!

5. Police Officer

Zuri so wanted to try being a police officer so we headed next to the Crime Scene Investigation Unit (CSI). Here, she learned that the police officer’s job is to keep the city safe. Police officers of CSI walk around the city to ask its citizens if anything has been stolen, if everything is alright and to make sure that there are no bad guys around. Zuri earned Kidzos for her police work. πŸ™‚

6. Surgeon

After her job at CSI, Zuri tried being a surgeon. The Operating Room is very detailed and looks real! Here, Zuri learned how to do a surgery and thought it was yucky. Hahaha!!! This station is one of my personal favorites because I used to be a doctor and spent some time in the operating room myself. But, alas, my daughter thinks this job is yucky, surely not her favorite. Β Haha. Oh well… this job, at least, got her some Kidzos.

7. Emergency Room Doctor

Moving on, though Zuri didn’t like the Operating Room, she was curious about the Emergency Room. Β I think the fact that kids get to ride the ambulance around the city to rescue a patient is kind of what the excitement about this particular station is all about. The kids worked as a group. Zuri, in particular, was in charge of checking the patient’s airway.

8. Pharmacist

Another thing that Zuri was so excited about was working at a hotel. However, the hotel was not ready yet by the time Zuri was finished with the Emergency Room job so, while waiting for the hotel, she used her time to work as a pharmacist at Mercury Drug. Zuri found this job to be the most boring job of all!!! She was sleepy and was yawning while doing her job. Hahaha!!! πŸ™‚ Here, she learned how to sort and count medicines and to put them in their respective places on the shelves. She earned a few Kidzos from this job.

9. Housekeeping

Finally, the hotel was ready for another round of activities. Holiday Inn was offering two jobs at the time: housekeeping and catering. Β Zuri chose housekeeping because she wanted to clean the bedroom more than she wanted to set the table. πŸ™‚

This job is another one of my favorites. It was just so cute watching Zuri clean up the room. Daddy Rupert and I were talking and we agreed that Zuri should be doing this at home! We thought that after this job, Zuri would be so tired! Hahaha! Zuri was rewarded with 8 Kidzos for her hard work at Holiday Inn.

10. Burger Maker

We took a break from all the activities to have lunch at Mcdonald’s (inside Kidzania), but Zuri couldn’t be stopped. While Daddy Rupert and I were eating, Zuri was making her own burger at the Mcdo station. The burgers that the kids make here are theirs to eat, so just like Yellow Cab, this station is also super worth your Kidzos. (But, to be honest, the Yellow Cab pizza tastes way better than the burger from Mcdo, so if you can only do one, choose the pizza. πŸ™‚ )

11. Firefighter

After finishing her food, Zuri went on to train to become a firefighter. This is another Kidzania highlight because the newly trained firefighters get to ride the fire truck around the city! Did you know that when there’s a fire, you are not supposed to open a door without checking the door knob first if it’s hot or not? Use the back of your hand to feel the door knob. If it is hot, then it’s not safe to open the door because there’s probably fire behind it! Zuri paid 6 Kidzos for her training as a firefighter.

12. Veterinarian

Zuri’s last job for the day was as a veterinarian. Daddy Rupert and Zuri has a black labrador retriever and this last job is just perfect for her as a pet lover. πŸ™‚ Here, she took care of a sick dog (not a real dog, just a stuffed toy) named Nonoy. She checked the dog’s eyes and ears and wrote down her findings. She earned Kidzos for her good work. πŸ™‚

Zuri earned more than she spent so at the end of our trip, she still had 79 Kidzos. There is a store in Kidzania where kids can spend their Kidzos to shop for some stuff/souvenirs but the cheapest at the time was worth 105 Kidzos. Since Zuri didn’t have enough Kidzos to buy anything, we’re just saving her Kidzos for her next visit.

Eats at Kidzania Manila:

Food prices inside Kidzania Manila are reasonable. During our visit, we ate two Purefoods Jumbo hotdog buns at around Php 55-60 each, a regular bucket of butter popcorn at Php 70 per bucket, a serving of pink cotton candy for Php 50, 2 orders of Mcdo 1-piece chicken meal with drink at Php 115/meal, a burger meal for Rupert (forgot the price) and a sundae (forgot the price also). A bottle of water from Goldilocks costs Php 40. We also ate two solo pizzas from Yellow Cab and one burger from Mcdo for free (part of the activities paid with Kidzos).

Souvenir Photos:

Picture taking is not allowed inside the activity area (though you may take pictures from outside) because Kidzania has its own group of photographers that roam around the city to take souvenir photos. You may purchase your pictures at the end of your visit. We got the 1 print + soft copy of all photos package. Basically, I got one printed photo of Zuri and a soft copy of everything else for PHP1,500. Not cheap but worth it!!!

TIP: You might have noticed that in some stations, Zuri did not have official photos. If you are planning on availing the 1 print+soft copy of all photos package, make sure that a photographer is present to take your kid’s photo at every station to maximize your money’s worth. If there is no photographer present, inform the Kidzania staff at the station that you would like an official photographer to take your kid’s photo.

For more information, visit the Kidzania Manila website:

We went to Kidzania on a weekday, arrived at 10:00 in the morning and stayed til 4:00 in the afternoon. On hindsight, we should have arrived one hour early to give us more time to do the activities. Zuri could have used this extra hour to be a dentist at Dental Care, a nurse at the Baby Care section of the hospital and a tour guide on the City Tour Bus. Zuri also wants to be an artist, a Laundromat worker, a judge at the Courthouse and a courier for LBC. Clearly, there are enough activities left for a second visit!

Take advantage of the discounted rates and bring your kids to Kidzania Manila this summer! πŸ™‚
