Today is the second and last day of the Adarna Book Fair at Zuri’s school. The books that I bought yesterday at the fair were such a hit, I thought it best to not pass up the chance to buy more! 🙂
Like yesterday, Zuri and I got a total of 9 new books today. Yey! 🙂
Ang Mahiyaing Manok is an Palanca award-winning book that teaches courage and self-confidence. Si Putot is a book about self-worth. Ang Kamatis ni Peles is another award-winning book that teaches the value of perseverance. Ang Mahiyaing Manok and Ang Kamatis ni Peles are my top choices because I want Zuri to learn self-confidence and perseverance. Si Putot is actually Zuri’s choice because she’s curious about the dog Putot. 🙂
Naaay!Taaay! is another one of my picks. It’s a book that demonstrates parents’ love in spite of children’s never-ending pleas – a very familiar scenario at home. 🙂
But That Won’t Make Me Sleep and Kung Linggo are Zuri’s picks. But That Won’t Make Me Sleep talks about bedtime routine while Kung Linggo is all about understanding the child’s love for play and adventure.
Science-themed books for young children have a special place in my heart. I feel that there should be more effort in general to bring Science closer to our littlest learners. Diego and Marie is a science adventure book that teaches about the five senses.
Speaking of Science, I also found these interesting Science books at the Adarna Book Fair. I think I was thinking more of my own geekiness than Zuri when I bought these. 🙂 I think Zuri can handle Can We Drink The Ocean? if I make it simple enough but Can We Plug into Lightning? is way too advanced for 5-year-old Zuri at this point. 🙂
