Rufo’s Famous Tapa At UP Ayala Technohub

Oct. 12, 2016

About 3 days ago, we went to UP Ayala Technohub for a quick bite before going to Rupert’s basketball game with his college orgmates. UP Ayala Technohub is kind of a special place for me because that’s where we had dinner on our very first date. Anyway, Rupert quickly spotted Rufo’s. He said their tapa is good.

We ordered Rufo’s Famous Tapa (PHP 119). It was 8 in the morning and we were the only ones in the store. Service was quick. Our Famous Tapa arrived in about 5 minutes.

Rufo's Famous Tapa

Rufo’s Famous Tapa, PHP 119

Unlike Rodic’s and Tapa King’s tapa (which I both like also), Rufo’s Famous Tapa is smothered with sauce. The sauce is delicious. The meat is tender and tasty.  The garlic rice with crunchy bits of garlic on top is also good. The serving is big enough to satisfy one person. Rufo’s Famous Tapa is worth coming back to. My verdict: thumbs up! 🙂

“Rufo’s Famous Tapa since 1984. The best seller since 1984! Mouth-watering, tender Batangas beef, marinated and served in Rufo’s rich, sweet “Famous Sauce” with a side order of fried egg. The sauce is really a dish on its own! Sauce Pa Lang, Ulam Na!” – This really says it all.

Aside from their Famous Tapa, Rufo’s also serves home-style Pinoy dishes such as Chicken Tinola, Pinoy Beef Steak, Sinigang na Bangus, Pork Sinigang, Pork Humba, Bulalo and Chicken Adobo. Their Specials include Boneless Bangus, Chicken Barbeque, Pork Barbeque, Liempo, Sizzling T-Bone Steak, Lumpiang Shanghai and Pork Chops.

Rufo’s Menu: Pulutan, Fil-Am Fusion, Desserts and Side Orders

Rufo’s also serves Fil-Am Fusion dishes – traditional American dishes done the Filipino way. Perhaps, these dishes can also be considered their “Kid’s Menu” because these dishes are what most kids would usually want: Spaghetti Bola-Bola, Tapa Pizza, Beef Tapa Sandwich, Rufo Burger and Sizzling Crispy Chicken. For desserts and side orders, they have Leche Flan, Black Sambo, Creamy Fruit Fiesta, Salted Egg w/ Tomato and Oriental Cream Soup.
